Cancer often seems the scourge of our generation. Everyone knows or has family members who have suffered with this insidious disease which seems to be the body turning against itself. Tragically, in too many cases the body is not the only thing that turns against the patient. Many cancer patients have literally been shunned by loved ones in their lives. So-called friends have abandoned the ill, as well as lovers and significant others. Too many times the cancer patient has not only had to fight their disease, but also fight to save the companionship they thought they could count on for support from the ignorance of friends, family, and neighbors.
We Survived is a project exalting those cancer survivors who have the nerve and courage to say to the world -- Here I am, I had cancer, I overcame the cancer and I'm just as beautiful, just as sexy, just as desirable as ever I was.
